Project 05: Excursions - Tate Boat

As part of the list of excursions we had to visit, going on the 'Tate Boat' was one of them. We had to record the journey of the boat trip.

I have never been on the Tate Boat, so as I was documenting the journey, I seemed to be fascinated by all the different bridges we were travelling through, so I focused on taking pictures of these.

Below are just a few of the bridges I photographed.

Project 05: Excursions - Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson - The Coral Reef

Mike Nelson's 'The Coral Reef' was first shown in Matt's Gallery, East London in 2000. It was recently acquired for Tate's collection. The work's title alludes to a collection of complex fragile belief systems that form a layer - a coral reef - beneath the 'ocean surface' of dominant ideologies.

In Nelson's words, he wants viewers to feel 'lost in a world of lost people'.

These are a few of the photos I took while at the exhibit, held in Tate Britain.

Project 05: Brief

3 Week Exploration Investigation

Beyond the boundaries is a suggestive term that refers to something that can't be defined because we have not yet experienced it. It suggests a place outside of our sphere to which we would not normally go. Although a spatical description it can relate to other areas of our lives.

"Parallel Synchronised Randomness"

"It's when the random occurences of your life line up to look like they were planned that way and that they were supposed to happen."

This is our theme for our film, as it is a regular ocurence that we all experience this or 'Deja vu' in one form or another.
